It was nice to have the beach practically to ourselves.

It was nice to have the beach practically to ourselves. The one dog we encountered was under perfect voice control.There was much less debris than we expected after the Big Storm.We will keep an eye on a lot that was being surveyed ( from the beach), with a small cottage on it. Will check to see whether there is a building permit for new construction, and monitor that ( rip rap, drainage, new walkway etc.)

It was a busy pre-holiday weekend at the beach.

A mild morning walk on mile 311 during an outgoing tide revealed 5 species of nudibranch, 3 species of anemone, and an impressive flock of 150 surfbirds that landed in the rocky outcroppings between Jockey Cap and Silver Point.

A morning walk on mile 311 from Tolovanna Wayside to Silver Point/Jockey Cap revealed a high relative abundance of ochre sea stars (Pisaster ochraceus) in rocky tidepools during the outgoing tide.
