September 2, 2013
The 20 surfbirds and 2 snowy plovers were the most interesting to see.
The 20 surfbirds and 2 snowy plovers were the most interesting to see. I have not seen these birds for awhile. There were about 50 pelicans on the beach and around Gull Rock. There were more pelicans on Gull Rock, but I did not have my binoculars with me to make a count. Many of the pelicans were flying south. There were a lot of sea gulls also. The sand has moved back on shore.
Number of people: 1. Walking or running: 1.
I saw 20 surfbirds and 2 snowy plovers on the rocks south of Arch Cape. I use to see these birds more often.
Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt).
