Mile 307 Report
March 3, 2013
A different looking float has washed on shore.
A different looking float has washed on shore. It is about six feet by three feet by two and one half feet. The corners are broken off exposing the styrofoam core. It has a smooth cement coating that is about 3/4 inch thick. The coating is thicker on the corners. Some shell fragments are still attached. There are no markings on the float. This may be from Japan.I took two pictures. I will attach the photos when I get back to Beaverton on 3/4/13.The float is located about 1/4 mile north of the Clatsop Lane access trail in Cove Beach. It is on the rocks below the bluff with the yellow house. It is far enough away from the ocean that it will not be washed away.
