Beach looks clean, brownish surf due to algae in June.

Beach looks clean, brownish surf due to algae in June.Eagle flies by frequently. Some pelicans.Very low tides and low sand level in May exposed reef-like structures with tide pools filled with sea anemones, some starfish, little shrimp and other water critters.
Conditions
Temperature: 60 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: W. Tide Level: 1.5 feet.

Notable Wildlife
Gull Rocks still covered with hundreds of murres and cormorants.May 17th small flock of 12 willets by the Arch Cape Creek

Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass, Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Small rocks, Wood pieces.
Natural Changes
Erosion of vegetated foredune, Visible retreat of solid bluff.
Actions & Comments
The previously reported erosion and landslides are about the same as in the March report.

The north end of the mile 307 beach had jelly fish covering much of the sand. I looked at the beach again on Sept.

It was good to see the migrating pelicans and murres back in Cove Beach.

It was a nice late fall day.

20 people were observing the barnacles and sea anemones on Arch Cape and enjoying the good weather.

It was a very nice day.

The wrack line contained small (2-4") crab casings, clam shells and broken sand dollars. There was a small land slide near a house drain line - see picture. The sand level was low on the north end of mile 307 which leaves the rocks uncovered.

Other than the wheel and tire, the beach was very clean.
