Very stormy day on the coast around noon today.

Very stormy day on the coast around noon today. The sea-foam was 1-2 feet high along the driftline. The surf was rushing in right up to the beachgrass, catching many walkers off-guard and causing a few last-minute dashes toward Ocean Ave.

Temperature: 53 F. Cloud Cover: Rain. Wind Velocity: Strong. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 10.0 feet.

Number of people: 15. Number of dogs: 3. Walking or running: 14. Photography: 1. Just a few stormwatchers out today.

Cars/trucks parking: 4.
Notable Wildlife
Just one seagull flying overhead, though yesterday, I briefly saw a large flock of them (30-40) flying over the surfline to catch whatever washed up.
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Wood pieces. LOTS of sea-foam today. More than I've ever seen on this beach (see photos).

I went out to walk the mile due to the reports of oiled birds and tarballs washing up in Cannon Beach.

A sunny Saturday morning in Manzanita! The upside down tree that is at 45. The strangest thing I found were the two adult common murres - one with a string tied to its wing.
