Report Details

Basic, sunny day at the beach, approaching high tide. I did carry 3 pieces of pressure treated wood off of mile 245, which I use to access mile 246. See pic below.

Conditions

Temperature: 52 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 4.8 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 17. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 14. Photography: 1. Other Activities: Two people sitting right at the base of the accessible north cliff and digging. I didn't approach closer to ask why.. Most people were just doing normal beach activities for this mile with the exception of the two who were digging with their hands or possibly with hand tools.

Concerns

Climbing bluffs/seastacks

Apparent violations: Nothing specific I can see from a quick glance at the regs. The woman had been just walking then tried to do some bouldering at the north east corner of the accessible bluff on the mile..

Driftline Content

Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Styrofoam.

Natural Changes

The east cliffs of the north end of the mile were shedding small rocks/pebbles in miniature landslides in several places.

Actions & Comments

None, as this is a common occurrence and not a major landslide with large rocks/boulders
