Dead bird counts for University of Washington have been small numbers (3-4 birds) and mostly common murres and western grebes. Driftline Content: There are a lot of large logs and heavy wrack in some areas, as well as enough garbage that I will go back for a special garbage run....lots of plastic. Erosion: Mile 241 is cycling thru its beach erosion phase as nearly 1/3 mile at the point between Nelscott beach and Canyon Drive is bedrock or gravel bed....most I have seen in eight years. Bank erosion on the bluffs is also evident, and I would guess some houses don't have too much longer to live.
