Hard to beat this kind of day - beautiful skies and sea, and the beach is clean. Tideline is mostly small bull kelp and kelp foliage.

Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 2. 1 cormorant; 1 murre - the murre was pretty much intact, looked washed up with kelp vegetation. Cormorant had been picked over down to the bone.
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt). Amazing how little land-based debris there is after the summer and Labor Day weekend. Very clean.
Natural Changes
Erosion of vegetated foredune, Major cracks appearing in bluffs.
Actions & Comments
On the 6th property south of Sijota access, vegetation has fallen, exposing more of the cliff. Owners (?) have put up plastic barricades and No Trespassing signs.

Storm damage for this mile seems mostly at Laurel/Sijota; Morris Excavation has built a roadbed parallel to the bluff for equipment access; some erosion at World Mark, north of state park.
