After a spate of sunny weather, we finally have rain, or at least drizzle.

After a spate of sunny weather, we finally have rain, or at least drizzle. Schoolhouse Creek is meandering far north. Ongoing work on bluff repair north of Sijota involves boulder stockpile at Laurel access, continued traffic of trucks with boulders on Laurel, excavators and loaders at repair site.

Cloud Cover: Rain. Tide Level: 1.4 feet.

Number of people: 7. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 7. Other Activities: surfers were out the last two days.

bald eagle flew over and perched on a snag near current riprap repair north of Sijota

Small rocks, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces. very little debris. a handful of small foam pellets, plastic pieces
New Development
Not sure what's happening at WorldMark. Appears to be fence posts going in parallel to bluff, which has eroded significantly in the past two years. Large crane and pile driver in evidence. New fencing at Gleneden Beach State Park. I wish the state would maintain that beach access.
Man-made Modifications
New riprap or shoreline protection structures. Ongoing work north of Sijota to Salishan spit
Natural Changes
Newly exposed roots/trees falling, Erosion of vegetated foredune. most of the erosion and root exposure happened earlier this year. at this point seems stabilized.

Storm damage for this mile seems mostly at Laurel/Sijota; Morris Excavation has built a roadbed parallel to the bluff for equipment access; some erosion at World Mark, north of state park.
