Conditions
Temperature: 52 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 4.3 feet.
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
Unusual concentration. There appears to be a nearly continuous line of dead jellyfish bits washed up along the swash line, including some whole jellies. In a .46 mile stretch from Yaquina Bay State Park to the beach access stairs at the Hallmark Inn, 744 SW Elizabeth St., I counted 358 intact sea nettles (Chrysaora fuscescens) and 2 moon jellies (Aurelia labiata). The majority of the sea nettles were 4"-8" diameter range. The two moon jellies were roughly 10"-12" in diameter (shapes were not entirely circular).
