Temperature: 53 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: N. Tide Level: 5.3 feet.
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
Unusual concentration. Mass stranding of by-the-wind sailors (Velella velella) in thin lines along the beach. Most individuals are small (3-10 mm), but a few are larger, in the 20-35 mm range. Also a number of sea gooseberry comb jellies (Pleurobrachia bachei)10 mm or less in diameter, though not nearly as many as there are velellas. Some jellyfish bits, as well.

Sea lion corpse, seven dead birds, the rubber fishing lures, much fishing rope, decomposed jellies, and copious amounts of marine and land debris were all notable observations.
