Mile 216 Report
Newport, Nye Beach south
June 6, 2012
A quiet day on Nye Beach (it _is_ a weekday morning).
Report Details
A quiet day on Nye Beach (it _is_ a weekday morning). Only one dog, and it was on leash. It's nice to see the new "do not harass the birds" signs at major beach access points. Relatively little trash on the beach, and only one dead bird. A lined shore crab (Pachygrapsus crassipes) wandering away from cover onto the open beach at the sewer outfall rip rap south of Nye Beach turnaround was surprising.
