Quite a few (58) people on the beach, despite the overcast, windy weather.

Quite a few (58) people on the beach, despite the overcast, windy weather. Fifteen people were walking 8 dogs, 5 off-leash, 3 on.One decomposing California sea lion carcass on the sand at the Nye Beach turnaround. Don't know how long it has been there.Saw 2 dead Cassin's auklets. There were probably more, but I was away from the swash line, which was high up the beach, for most of my walk.

Eight total lures were seen, all of them glittery with an orangish hue.

Sea lion corpse, seven dead birds, the rubber fishing lures, much fishing rope, decomposed jellies, and copious amounts of marine and land debris were all notable observations.
