Mile 209 - Ona Beach north of Beaver Creek, Tracy Creek - March 18, 2009

Report Details

There were car tracks at lost creek in two tight circle patterns. On September 15 I was walking on this mile at 9:00 am and found a log, 1 by 4 feet, still burning from some partying the night before. There were also cloths and fireworks remains around. I took the trail to the nearest house where a man in his early 20s came out. I told him of the burning log, which he said was theirs when he said is that thing burning, he covered it with sand . I said that sand wouldn't do it and to please put it out. He agreed to do so. On my return trip he and three other men had the area policed up well and when I said thanks, he said they were doing it for the ocean.

Larger litter: 2 wooden pallets; 1 part of a very large plastic globe float.DEVELOPMENT: The failed surface water drain system behind the house at about road mile 147.95 has been repaired. A ridged, 6-inch pipe was mated to the drain pipe protruding through the bluff and extended to a shelf at the base of the bluff. This has been back filled with beach sand which was planted with European beach grass. The part of the pipe that is showing is an aquamarine color that does not blend with the background - obtrusive!
