June 12, 2010
The major change from all previous reports for this mile was a paving of the wrack line with pieces of plastic as described below.
Report Details
The major change from all previous reports for this mile was a paving of the wrack line with pieces of plastic as described below.West winds during March and in particular April deposited, almost paved a 10 to 15 foot wide swath along the wrack line with particulate plastic from pin head to 1 inch size and a generous scattering of larger items. Many of the containers were weathered to the point that they were disintragating. This is a sample of what is floating in much of the ocean west of here and was the most/worst that I have encountered.I know that this level deposit occurred on adjacent beach area.
