Report Details

Entered the beach at Patterson State Park to start this mile south of Patterson Creek. The creek was easy to cross. The multitude of Crystal Jellies on the driftline continued for the whole mile walking south. Observed 2 dead birds in the driftline and 1 dead bird buried in the sand closer to the dunes. Many walkers and runners were enjoying this beautiful sunny morning, as well as, a family playing in the sand and bikers riding by the surf. The dogs observed were either on a leash or in control by the owner. Reached the end of the mile near Big Stump and walked back near the dunes and bluffs. Saw evidence of erosion of the dunes and observed many large logs on top of the dunes. The bluffs also showed evidence of erosion.
