Report Details

Mile two has had a busy week with the debri washing-up from the boat that sank in the harbor . A dog, jackets and shoes . Also a few Lingcod heads , chitons, dead infant seal and earlier in the month a soupfin shark.the beach is pretty clean of man-made garbage, and a lot more that usual sand washing in with the tide.

Conditions

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 8.5 feet.

Human Activities

no persons on the beach.. just a few foot prints Earlier this week however did find a dead dog, three jackets and varied shoes , dead newborn Harbor seal, 5 or more Lingcod heads and three chitons dead .

Notable Wildlife

Dead Fish or Invertebrates

Unusual concentration. Heads only, like a cleaning fish and dump the heads lingcod... Chitton dead 3 this week...Dead shark first part of the month

Natural Changes

lots of sand showing at low tide..around point.

Actions & Comments

found earlier this month a soupfin shark and called the Park service for ID. They came and picked-up the four foot fish and have not heard back except it was ID'd as a Soupfin Shark.

The last part of mile 2 (ends at Red Point) I was able to walk because no one around to stop me when I went looking for permission to pass the NO TRESPASS signs.
