Mile 191 Report
Devils Churn, Cape Perpetua, North Cape Creek
June 22, 2007
The mile was remarkably clean of litter and ocean debris.
Report Details
The mile was remarkably clean of litter and ocean debris. Found 2 plastic bottles and a couple of small pieces of styrofoam, all ocean debris. The tidal pools and mussel beds to the north of the Churn appear healthy. One pool has quite an abundance of sea urchins, more than I have ever noticed before.Aside from some gulls, no other birds were observed. The 'resident' oyster catchers, that have been seen and heard during past times, were not present.
Conditions
Temperature: 70 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 2.2 feet.
