Mile 182 is covered in sand.
Report Details
Mile 182 is covered in sand. Very few rocks visible. The driftline was a coating of dried sea water although some small bits of material was visible here and there. Wildlife was restricted to birds. No fish. No mammals. Very little in the way of vegetation was present in the heavy coating of sand.

Temperature: 61 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 1.5 feet.
Activities
Number of people: 6. Number of dogs: 4. Playing in sand: 2.
Other Activities: Just a few hikers and their dogs. Very little activity..
Notable Wildlife
Nine brown pelicans heading north. A scattering of cormorants and seagulls. Few signs of life on the beach, but a large amount of birds visible through binoculars.

Animal casings or molts, Plastic debri (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Shells, Small rocks, Styrofoam, Wood pieces.

This was a minus tide leaving pools of water on the beach.

The wrack line contained feathers, rocks, pieces of shells, a piece of rope, a piece of foam and a piece of a float. There is evidence of waves under cutting the bushes on the dune, retreat of the dunes and wave over topping.

The entry way to Muriel Ponsler has been enhanced by a load of gravel that was placed in the entry way ditch. There were a lot of sand filling in the beach which is usual in the summer.
