The entry way to Carl Washburn heading towards China Creek was very slippery with mud and by the wind sailor jellyfish. So I decided to leave the beach at China creek and walk back through Carl Washburn campground. I let the camp host know how slippery the situation was.

Notable Wildlife
One black sea bird sitting in the surf life. It looked weak. A wave washed it out to sea.
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
Unusual concentration. Thousands of by the wind sailor jellyfish were on the beach. Apparently washed in during the high tide before the minus tide.
Driftline Content
Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Wood pieces, Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea). Thousands of by the wind sailors making the initial entry to the beach slippery.

The entry way to Muriel Ponsler has been enhanced by a load of gravel that was placed in the entry way ditch. There were a lot of sand filling in the beach which is usual in the summer.

A lot of people on the beach today backpacking, rock hounding, playing and picnicking on the beach. There was one large piece of fiberglass on the beach.

As I entered the beach and walked toward China creek I saw a dead common murre in the wrack line.
