Mile 155 Report
Oregon Dunes NRA, Tahkenitch Creek
January 9, 2011
First time walking this mile.
Report Details
First time walking this mile. Lovely day, mild rain briefly. Parked at the Tahkenitch camp grounds and took the creek trail to the beach then followed the ThreeMile Lake trail back. The beach was littered with large scrubs. The edge of the dune before it drops to the beach had lots of root exposure and trees that were literally getting ready to slide down from the 30ft bank. Two trees had the duff that surrounds the tree sliding all together as a unit. This was about 50 yards just south of where the Tahkenitch Creek meets the ocean. We saw no one on the trails but 2 motorcycles on the beach in the designated area.
