Shells, kelp/algae, wood, plactic and Styrofoam in the driftline.
Report Details
Shells, kelp/algae, wood, plactic and Styrofoam in the driftline. Many logs and milled wood. Two people and three dogs on beach. Property at 89227 Cape Arago Hwy undergoing major construction on beach cliff. Owner applied for permit he said 4 yrs ago. There was a hearing re these modifications last yr. Laid about 4ft high concrete wall on beach and is terracing with rocks and sand. Using some kind of firm plastic cell like material to hold things together. Has three drainage pipes coming out of the bottom of the structure. The cliff is basically gone in that area. The property at 90051 Cape Arago Hwy continues to be undermined. The chain link fence is now beginning to fall down on the ocean side. Rock showing on lower portion of beach above low tide line, but above good sand infill. Some small areas of beach erosion. Even though low tide, surf was still too high to get on some parts of the beach. Some gulls and crows. Otherwise, nothing going on. The bridge has been removed to the lighthouse. The lighthouse looks spiffey, but can't go see it up close. Found only one thing that is probably tsunami debris, an odd-shaped light bulb with barnacles on it.
