Mile 121 Report
Gregory Point, Lighthouse Beach, Mussel Reef
June 18, 2014
Still at least one small piece of dock visible on beach.
Report Details
Still at least one small piece of dock visible on beach. Too heavy for me to carry. Small concentration of pellets around trail, few on cliffs and in protected pockets, but think most of it is covered up with sand. Went specifically to check on house at 90051 Cape Arago Hwy. From beach it can be seen that fence has been removed. The patio now appears to be hanging over the cliff at least a foot. There was a light on inside the house with no obvious inhabitant. Will keep observing and hope for further progress.Sea Stars: Only 3 seen on rocks that would be covered by the tide. Many, many Green Anemones. The stars looked thin and nearly part of the rock. Small clumps of stars on the cliff side on overhang. These looked plumper.
Human Activities
Number of people: 5. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 5. Quiet and beautiful morning. Not many taking advantage of the low tide.
Concerns

Notable Wildlife
Very little wildlife on beach, just gulls. The ocean side of the lighthouse island is now completely devoid of cover. Looked like a thousand nesting birds out there. Think they were cormorants, but need scope to make sure. Some gulls out there also.
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces. Very large logs as usual on beach
Man-made Modifications
no new
Natural Changes
Cliffs very green. Indicates no new washouts.
