Very busy "day at the beach"--not surprising for Sunday of Labor Day Weekend; what did surprise me was the relatively low number of out-of-state license plates.

Very busy "day at the beach"--not surprising for Sunday of Labor Day Weekend; what did surprise me was the relatively low number of out-of-state license plates.

Tide Level: 3.8 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 200. Number of dogs: 10. Playing in surf: 10. Kayaking: 10. Other Activities: games (such as volleyball). pleasant temperatures & little wind primarily groups--family and extended family/other (up to 25 people in a group)--doing usual (mostly stationary) beach activities less than 10% of vehicles (12) from out-of-state the four parking lots were fuller 45 minutes later (though vehicles were not counted)

Sunset Bay was overwhelmed by visitors presumably drawn by the "High Surf" warnings on their weather apps or, I suspect, by awareness of the "King Tide" phenomenon.

A lot of people have a good time on the beach.

This area appeared to me to have been somewhat laid to waste by high waves along with rain which flooded the parking lots and, of course, the beach.
