Mile 116 Report
Seven Devils cliffs, Cape Arago South Cove
December 25, 2019
I have always been curious what is happening at my mile during high tide.
Report Details
I have always been curious what is happening at my mile during high tide. I generally go at low tide to access the most sand and tide pools I can. Since Christmas day had a king tide, I did a brief survey. I was surprised to see the number of vehicles I did, but I saw only 3 surfers in the cove. A woman and her dog were running down the trail as I was walking up. I will return later this season to do a more thorough survey.
Conditions
Temperature: 47 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Tide Level: 7.8 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 4. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 1. Surfing: 3.
Concerns
Vehicles
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass. I didn't actually walk the mile this trip, because of high surf.

There was a beach hazard statement issued and I wanted to see what impact that would have as we were experiencing the first fine weather after so many weeks of cold rain. I was charmed by a family of six playing on the beach, the children even playing in the water.
