A beautiful late summer day.
Report Details
A beautiful late summer day. It was sunny at 11:30 am when I arrived, then thick fog rolled in and remained for the 4 hours I was there, but only along the shore line, but still calm air and warm temp. Kelp/algae in the driftline. Twelve people walking on the beach with three dogs. A dead bird that may have been a Red-throated Loon rolling in the surf.
Conditions
Temperature: 70 F. Cloud Cover: Foggy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light.
Human Activities
Number of people: 12. Number of dogs: 3. Walking or running: 12.

Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 1. Not sure of species. I didn't have my camera (darn). Was half-n-half: snow white bottom half, including underbelly, dark brown top half, including back, wings and tail, medium length neck was speckled brown and white, bill was rather pointed and about 2 1/2 to 3" in length. Looked like it had webbed feet, was rolling around in the surf line and about the size of a gull.
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass.
