A beautiful sunny day, but dampened by unhealthy air quality on the beach due to an assumed slash burn on the hill above.

A beautiful sunny day, but dampened by unhealthy air quality on the beach due to an assumed slash burn on the hill above. Moderate human impact (1)- 6 walking,2 sitting and 2 juveniles on 2 ATV's on a closed beach.

Temperature: 58 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW.

Number of people: 10. Number of dogs: 4. Walking or running: 6. Sitting: 2. Other Activities: atv. Two kids, apparently area residents, on atv's (with unleashed dog)arrived at sunset., descended stairs leading to beach access on atv's and sped away on beach north bound.

Total dead birds: 1. dead washed up in surf - not sure of species. Long neck with brown wings and black (and white) tail, white cheeks and tail markings, about the size of a Cormorant (After researching, I believe it might have been a Red-necked Grebe).
