This was a walk on the northern 2/3rds of the mile from the Bullards Beach parking lot due west of the campground.

This was a walk on the northern 2/3rds of the mile from the Bullards Beach parking lot due west of the campground. Beautiful calm day. Five people (2 dogs) were out walking. Heavy erosion of "No Vehicle" sign and vegetated foredune noted by 'beachnut' earlier was photographed. Estimated 10 feet removed at sign and more at foredune. Water line at near low tide was clean. Lots of debris (wood, plastic)as well as shells at the high tide line.

Temperature: 55 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: N. Tide Level: 1.5 feet.

Notable Wildlife
Brown Pelicans (dozen), Sanderlings and Dunlins in a couple of small separate bunches.
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
One small 3.5-inch fish that I had not seen before (see photo).

Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Shells, Wood pieces.
Natural Changes
Erosion of vegetated foredune.

After finishing the walk and observing the family around their fire, I made my way to the park host/ranger station to report the illegal campfire.

A cloudy but calm morning saw just me and a few gulls on the beach, while about 20 cormorants, a pelican and other gulls flew offshore.

Scads of people were out enjoying a calm, sunny January Sunday.

No one else was out on this calm morning after two days of extremely high surf--at least when we started north.

The wind was brisk, but the sun was shining,and we had the beach to ourselves practically the whole outing.
