Report Details
After finishing the walk and observing the family around their fire, I made my way to the park host/ranger station to report the illegal campfire. After introducing myself, I started to explain what was the concern, and in mid-sentence the ranger got a call from the other ranger that was in the middle of "busting" the family. The second ranger returned and had said that the family was from out-of-town and "was not aware of the signage". South from the vehicles prohibited area was evidence of someone ignoring the posted signs and driving towards the jetty. Attached, is a picture. Towards the south end of the mile are several shore pines along the foredunes. Pictured, is evidence of recent erosion. Shells, small rocks and wood in the driftline. Several seagulls and two cormorants. Seven people sitting and two dogs on the beach.
