Mile 102 Report
Coquille River, South Jetty, Lighthouse
March 11, 2013
Heading south from the Coquille River was mostly litter- and body-free.
Report Details
Heading south from the Coquille River was mostly litter- and body-free. It was cloudy but a mild 48 with slight northerly wind. Apart from crows on the beach and a few airborne gulls, the avian community was either out fishing or sitting on the offshore rocky isles. Some wood pieces and small rocks in the driftline, but there is one large stone bed in place off Madison Ave. Two walkers, one with an unleashed dog and the other on leashes. One runner and two people shooting golf balls into the sea, even though there are at least 5 golf courses in the area--a point I made. But of course, they continued adding inedible material into the ocean food chain.
