Mile 102 Report
Coquille River, South Jetty, Lighthouse
July 30, 2014
Very foggy at 5:30 a.
Report Details
Very foggy at 5:30 a.m. on the southern half of this mile, but still dog walkers were out there (me included). Three each with a dog, though not all at the same time. One vehicle in the lot on my arrival, 2 as I left. Beach was clean; small rocks, shell fragments, some kelp and a pale yellow foamy accumulation on the high line--perhaps eggs? In any case it was visible along the whole half mile from the Coquille River. One dead fish, about 5 inches long. A few gulls on shore and flying; cormorants were heading out for breakfast. Harbor seals were absent.
