Mile 102 Report
Coquille River, South Jetty, Lighthouse
December 3, 2012
Walking south from the Coquille River was an against-the-wind encounter this morning.
Report Details
Walking south from the Coquille River was an against-the-wind encounter this morning. No one was out apart from some gulls and a Sanderling or two. The usual types of litter (Styrofoam and plastic bottles) were there. Small stones generally lined this half-mile stretch. No people were parked or on the beach at all until the last leg of my walk: 5 humans, 1 dog, 11 vehicles mostly occupied. Logs are accumulating close to the jetty, and further south the reverse is occurring as the higher tides remove both logs and accumulated sand generally on the beach closest to Madison Avenue.
