Report Details
The southern half of Mile 102 had nothing in the driftline apart from shell fragments and small stones. Oddly, there were no gulls or crows or sand hoppers or wood on rhe 1/4 mile south of the jetty. However there was driftwood on the rest. Obvious wave erosion of vegetated foredune was closest to inhabited structures. At 8 a.m. on a partly cloudy day with tides at about 2,8 feet, there were 2 vehicles, 3 walkers, 1 runner and 1 dog. Observations followed days of King Tides and storm surge. On the northern part the next day at about 8 a.m. with similar environmental conditions, logs accumulated in the upper lighthouse parking lot and in the area below it for much of the half mile. Gulls flocked at the north jetty. Shell fragments, small stones and bull kelp were encountered. 2 grocery bags of litter were collected; one of them solely plastic bottles. The people count was 8, 2 vehicles, 3 dogs.
