Heading north from the Coquille River a bit before 7:30 am on a clear but cold morning and saw a large flock of gulls huddled near the jetty but not much otherwise in beach life.

Heading north from the Coquille River a bit before 7:30 am on a clear but cold morning and saw a large flock of gulls huddled near the jetty but not much otherwise in beach life. Frost covered the high beach and the accumulated logs--a fairly uncommon sight here. Shell fragments, crab molt and small stones comprised the tideline. No people during my walk, but 3 with dogs arrived as I was leaving the lower parking lot.

Temperature: 36 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 6.5 feet.
Human Activities
Three people, a couple with 2 unleashed large dogs and a single woman with leashed dog, arrived in the lower lighthouse parking area as I was leaving. No one was on the beach during my 3-mile jaunt.
