Mile 102 Report

December 2, 2012
The sea was stormy heading north from the Coquille River jetty, though the sky was mostly blue.
Report Details
The sea was stormy heading north from the Coquille River jetty, though the sky was mostly blue. Gulls and flocks of Sanderlings were notable on the wet sand. No dead animals to report. Small rocks, wood, Styrofoam and plastic bottles in the driftline. Erosion is beginning at the northern end of this half-mile and log accumulations are heavy, especially at the original lighthouse beach parking lot area, now closed to vehicles. I only saw one couple at the end of my walk, though at least two people with big dogs had been there judging by the tracks. Looking across the jetty, waves pounded up to the top of Table Rock from time to time. Oh, and there was a lovely rainbow to the north.
