Report Details

A clear sunny day after hurricane Oho scooted by to our north. The wave action was strong and it was the clear that the higher tides were pushing quite a way up the beach.Only one other person was observed walking at the edge of the surf.Four dead birds were seen. Three possible murres with only some feathers and partial skeletons visible at the northern end of the mile. One gull at the southern end.

Temperature: 65 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 5.0 feet.

Number of people: 1. Walking or running: 1.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 4. 3 smaller birds in the upper rack line with some feathers and skeleton visible, maybe a type of murre. These were located in the northern end of the mile. One gull (see picture) at southern end of mile. Looked like it had been attacked and killed by something on shore as there were feathers on the foredune and wounds were bright red.
