It was a beautiful sunny day with a light breeze. There were many (31) people and dogs (10)enjoying the day walking the beach at lunchtime on a Monday. There were several dead Common Murres on the beach, most had been scavenged. We observed one person on the side of the bluff, apparently digging for something. The beach below the area he was digging was marked with a stick in the ground and we have observed him digging in this area in the past. As always, we observed a lot of plastic debris on the beach (plastic pieces, bottles, plastic ring) as well as campfire debris, cans, and bottles. We filled a trash bag but it did not even make a dent. We will keep cleaning up!

A large swath of the bluff is well vegetated with shore pines, willow and native shrubs like silverweed, and black twinberry.
