Report Details

The tide was low, and the beach was wide and flat. There was no trace of the sand dunes that had dominated the beach a few months ago. The wrack line contained more marine debris than in the last few months; in particular, there were many places where marine ropes could be seen, sometimes entangled with algaes. Where the cliffs were sandy, small erosion channels were visible. Near Jumpoff Joe rocks were falling to the base of the cliffs. Above, you could see others that had been buried in the sand or sandstone and that were being exposed by wind and water. It was chilly but not rainy, and people were walking and enjoying the winter beach.
