There are many ways to support Oregon Shores this Giving Tuesday and throughout the holiday season. We rely on our members’ support to continue working on marine conservation, land use planning, and climate change. You can purchase an Oregon Shores membership for yourself, your family, or give one as a gift. Learn more about our membership options here.

You can also share your support everywhere you go with Oregon Shores and CoastWatch merchandise. We recently launched Oregon Shores logo and CoastWatch volunteer merchandise in our Bonfire storefront. Bonfire reduces waste by printing all orders on demand, in batches, and ships them directly to you.

For a truly unique gift, purchase a custom-designed map of the Oregon coast. This beautiful map commemorates 50 years of public beaches in Oregon, from 1967– 2017. The map highlights key conservation areas and public access sites on the Oregon coast (state park lands, marine reserves, federal wildlife refuges, and other conservation and recreation areas). It uses colors to indicate major land cover types.

For those looking to learn more about the Oregon coast, we suggest The Northwest Coast: A Natural History by Stewart T. Schultz. This book provides insight into the relationships between the sea and the land and the living creatures they support. Starting in the coastal waters with populations of marine animals and seabirds, the author examines the successive habitats found landward, from seashore, estuaries, dune, and freshwater wetlands to the great temperate conifer forests so characteristic of the region. The book brings the coast to life with illustrations by John Megahan and Kathy Kellerman.

Finally, if you take a few moments to sign up for these rewards programs, you can support Oregon Shores when you shop all year round. First, you can sign up for AmazonSmile, which ensures a percentage of qualifying purchases will be donated directly to us. Next, you can set up your Fred Meyer Community Rewards account. This costs you nothing, but the program donates to Oregon Shores as a percentage of total spending associated with all participating organizations. Learn more about both programs here.

We are truly grateful for all our members, CoastWatchers, and supporters! Because of you, we have been able to advocate for the Oregon coast for over 50 years and continue to expand our work as we grow our organization.
