The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) this week issued a draft environmental review for the proposed Oregon LNG terminal (to be located at Warrenton) and pipeline that, unsurprisingly, failed to adequately address the likely impacts to public health and safety, endangered salmon, or the Columbia estuary habitat. Oregon Shores joined Columbia Riverkeeper and many other allies fighting the proposal in promptly issuing a press release rejecting FERC’s idea that the environmental impacts could be addressed through “mitigation.” Read more here: http://bit.ly/1E8Vwc4.

Oregon Shores, through our Coastal Law Project, will be working with Columbia Riverkeeper to oppose the Oregon LNG land use proposal for the actual site in Warrenton, where it is aimed at wetlands in a tsunami and earthquake zone.
