The kelps: Postelsia, Lessoniopsis, Cystoseira, Hymenena, Nereosystis and Ulva, in driftline or higher up on beach. Very light driftline with a few shells, crab carapaces, snail egg cases, and small rocks. Sanderlings foraging in the surfline, driftline and clustered as groups of 50 and 15 on the dry sand. Beach sloped 13 degrees at northern end of mile deminishing to six degrees at the south. One dead Common Murre. Low human impact (0).

Notable Wildlife
Sanderlings foraging in the surf. One group of 40 and a second group of 15 Sanderlings togther on high beach. Ring-billed Gulls, Western Gulls, and Barn Swallows flying over beach.

Total dead birds: 1. 1-Common Murre

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Shells, Small rocks. Snail egg-cases and wood chips.
Actions & Comments
At the northern end of the mile, the beach sloped 13 degrees to the ocean becomning a more gentle slope of 6 degrees at the southern end. High tides wash over the ridge into the shallow runnel. Very light driftline with some wood chips, and snail eggcases. Postelsia, Lessoniopsis, Cystoseira, Hymenena, Ulva, and small amount of Nereocystis knots in the driftline.

The beach consisted of a high ridge of accumulated sand with a six degree slope and lagoons in the runnel.
