Very light driftline of small rocks and some wood pieces.
Report Details
Very light driftline of small rocks and some wood pieces. 26 Snowy Plovers, flocks of Sanderlings, Dunlins and Least Sandpipers foraging at surfline. Dead birds included one dead Western Grebe and one Brown Pelican. Beach slope of 5 degrees. Little beach debris. Tractor moving slowly down beach and removing sand from the Snowy Plover Habitat Restoration Site. A large piece of a dock washed up on beach. Wind of 6.2-9.4 mph. Air and ocean temperatures of 59 and 49.7 degrees F, respectively. Low human impact (1) walking with two small dogs.

Number of people: 1. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 1. Caterpillar coming down the beach and then plowing the Snowy Plover Habitat Restoration Area while we were in the area.
Notable Wildlife
26 Snowy Plovers sitting in caterpillar tracks and in the high sand areas. Flocks of Sanderlings, Dunlins and Least Sandpipers foraging at the surfline.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 2. One Western Grebe and one Brown Pelican.
Driftline Content
Small rocks, Wood pieces. very light driftline.
Natural Changes
Beach slope of 5 degrees.
Actions & Comments
Caterpillar tractor moving down the beach and reoving sand from the Snowy Plover Habitat Restoration Site. A postion of a dock washed up on the northern end of the mile.

A light diftline of a few Postelsia, some Fucus, Ulva, Hymenena and Nereocystis, crab molts, broken Sand Dollars, jellies, the Ctenophore, Pleurobrachia, the Tunicate, Salpa maxima and Phyllospadix, surfgrass.

Light driftline with fresh water aquatic plants- Myriophyllum (Water Milfoil), terrestrial plant debris-stems, leaves and needles and saltwater plants, Phyllospadix (Surfgrass)and Eelgrass, Zostera.

The beach consisted of a high ridge of accumulated sand with a six degree slope and lagoons in the runnel.
