One family enjoying the beach. Several lean-to structures on the beach created from driftwood. Several very large flocks of sandpipers numbering about 1000 or more. Someone had cleaned up some plastic debris and left several bags in the parking lot (hopefully to be picked up). Attached is a picture of a most unusual piece of tree trunk that was washed ashore.

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: S. Tide Level: 3.5 feet.

Number of people: 7. Playing in sand: 7.

Notable Wildlife
Perhaps 1000 sandpipers near the water line, by far the largest concentration we have seen on our mile.
