Report Details
On this warm day many people were enjoying the beach with their dogs. There was an absence of kelp bundles which we would have expected after our stormy weather. Sawdust showed where several beach logs had been cut for firewood. The most notable thing were stones, weighing a pound or less, dotting the entire mile like raisins on cinnamon dough. On our return walk we picked up about 25 pounds of debris, mostly plastic.

An unusually large concentration of driftwood today; the dried velella velella were in the drift line and higher on the beach; along with the usual crab, mussel and crab shell there were some small shells unusual to our mile; picking up debris on our walk back south, there was an abundance of plastic bottle caps sans bottles.
