February 9, 2016
There were no dead birds, and a tremendous amount of phytoplankton along the driftline which are the only really different observations we had compared to previous surveys.
Report Details
There were no dead birds, and a tremendous amount of phytoplankton along the driftline which are the only really different observations we had compared to previous surveys. The increase in human activity is probably largely due to the fact that this is the first decent weather that we have had since well before the holiday season. There are a couple large debris items such as a yellow pallet and a giant strip of fiberglass from perhaps a boat. The students have arranged to meet up and discard these items in the morning.
Conditions
Temperature: 70 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 4.9 feet.
