It was great to see so may people enjoying the beach.

It was great to see so may people enjoying the beach. Parking is limited with most of the jetty parking lot blocked due to the Sough Jetty repair work. Lots of driftwood has accumulated. Very little trash of any kind. My guess is that I have others picking up trash on a regular basis. I am on this section of beach regularly.
Conditions
Temperature: 53 F. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 6.2 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 34. Number of dogs: 7. Walking or running: 11. Playing in surf: 3. Playing in sand: 5. Sitting: 7. Fishing: 8.
Concerns
Driftwood removal
Apparent violations: Large chunks of cedar removed from Driftwood with a chain saw..Vehicles
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 1. I believe it to have been a Heron
Driftline Content
Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces. Sea Grass from the bay. More jellies than I recall seeing in the past
Natural Changes
Newly exposed roots/trees falling, Evidence of wave overtopping.

Over a week, I observed a large number of partial and whole dead sea nettles and other jellyfish on the beach.

Appears to be the dead harbor seal reported on July 28, which was also reported to the Marine Mammal Stranding Network.
