Beautiful Oregon day. Much more bird life than in the last 6 reports likely because much less wind today. One dead sea bird. Copius amounts seaweed washed up at high tide line

Disturbances: Shorebirds moving in response to humans/dogs

Notable Wildlife

Much more activity today. Winds calm. 2 Pelicans in flight heading west. 2 cormorants in flight heading west. A flock 12 sanderlings at high tide line feeding

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 1. No leg bands. Photo attached. I cannot ID and if someone can I will be happy to update report

Driftline Content

Shells, Wood pieces. copious amounts brown/green stringy seaweed I believe eel grass (again if someone can ID correctly I am happy to update report). Large mussel shells. Large crab shells

Beautiful Oregon coast bluebird day. Large wash up of old velella casings at high tide line creating a very strong "ocean" odor Very little trash on my mile of beach but collections of bottles and styrofoam found further down closer to Cape Meares (collected and disposed of) Few sea birds today

Recent king tides encroaching onto and undercutting fore dune. More debris than usual. A few shore birds Little human activity Large "octopus tree" I have been following has rotated again and the trunk now points NE. I continue to take photo facing N and S at the high tide line at the MP 29 sign entrance to the beach
