Mile 278 is stable and healthy. There are no signs of human activities, the vegetation is thriving and the sand dunes are stable.Litter (mostly plastic and Styrofoam) was evident, but not in the quantities from April's inspection. We filled two plastic bags and collected numerous larger plastic pieces.Found one medium sized decomposed mammal carcass. It may have been a goat, sheep or dog.

Number of people: 2. No sign of human activities. Mile is natural and undisturbed.

The shoreline was lightly clumped with green grass-like vegetation

Much sand covering beach, both tide driven and wind driven up to the base of hte dunes and covering 3-5' of base.
