Dune removal. See photos. Also, the Facebook drilling was active with a large loud machine working.

Temperature: 50 F. Wind Velocity: Strong. Wind Direction: S. Tide Level: 1.0 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 5. Number of dogs: 3. Walking or running: 5. A large dune has been removed to provide a view for a large house under construction. Trees have been toppled and pushed onto the beach. It seems that the large dune that has been removed spanned private and public property.

Concerns

Apparent violations: Dune and shorepine tree removal at new construction at end of Pollock St..

Vehicles

Cars/trucks on beach, allowed: 3.

Driftline Content

Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea). Much more small and micro plastics than normal.

Man-made Modifications

Dune modification/removal, Sand removal. The large dune at the end of Pollock Ave. has been removed as part of a new home being constructed. It seems to have spanned private and public property. Trees have been pushed down onto the beach.

Actions & Comments

I'm not sure about the legality of the dune removal.
