Mile 248 Report
Cascade Head south, Salmon River
May 26, 2015
I rescued two capsized kayakers in chaotic surf off the mouth of the Salmon River.
Report Details
I rescued two capsized kayakers in chaotic surf off the mouth of the Salmon River. Conditions were surprisingly rough for a supposedly 4-ft swell, and there was a nasty rip current running out along the head, which carried one empty kayak out to Three Rocks and beyond (I could not retrieve it). Apart from the kayaking carnage, Cascade Head was its usual pristine self.
